visual studio code - VSCode support fully integrated IPython terminal - Stack Overflow
I've had little success in figuring out how to get IPython terminal integrate with VSCode. There are many posts here and there but they are either outdated or irrelevant.

The original question is asked in 2023 and its status is still open.
I am well aware of notebook features in VSCode but that's not of my interest. e.g. cells, Native REPL etc are not what I'm asking and my question is very specific to what I've asked and linked.
I assume this means it is impossible to integrate IPython and VSCode at the moment (Jan 2025) in a way that IPython terminal operates just like Spyder. Is this true?
